Missing component on back
I figured out what the missing item was. It was an interlock switch.
That switch normally prevents the transmitter from operating when it is
removed from its case.
Power into the dummy load
I was able to tune it up into the dummy load on 40 meters. I could hear it on my local receiver. Finally progress. I'll probably button it back up and make everything safe now.
